Concrete

So concrete was poured this week, this is a perimeter foundation and then dirt is compacted in the center and a slab is poured (cheaper than a 2foot slab)over top.
as you can see they started forming the Left garage better known as MY OFFICE.
Also the pipe for drainage is very important, it will connect everything that has to go through the sewer

Dave, our contractor called to say, "you haven't been by to see what we've been up too"
I said" oh I did not want to bug you guys and seem like a hovering mom"
Dave, " our feelings are getting hurt, come by you won't recognize it "
I am on my way.
Guess what we got a building permit, as Max would say "ohyaohya" twirling his hips.
All because of Dave, persistence pays off and we are on the road to home building.
I am leaving out our bad experience with story poles, these are very tall poles to show the neighbors what the house will look like, this was done while we were in Holland last summer. We got royally screwed over by some contractor from Belmont. So no photos no story. Every time I use the pole wood for the fireplace I think this is the most expense firewood know to mankind.
The land was graded last week, flatten out and then they started working on the forms which will hold the concrete perimeter, think flat blueprint.
I noticed how black, rich the soil is and am immediately thinking vegetable garden.
